There is no monthly service charge or maintenance fee on our share draft accounts. All you ever pay for are the checks that you order. These checks may be ordered through the Credit Union for at a very low cost or you can order them from your favorite check printing company. The Credit Union is not out to make money off of your check order, it is just a service that we offer to our members. 

 

 

 

There is no per check fee for our accounts. Many other financial institutions charge you for every check that is processed or start charging after you reach a certain predetermined limit of checks each month.  We do not charge you now and we never will! With our share draft account you can write as many checks as you need, without worrying about how much each check will cost you.

 

  

 

You can protect yourself against overdrawing your account with one or both of these options:

 

1)      Having funds automatically transferred from your savings (share) account. This option will transfer the exact amount to cover any overdraft. This will incur a $5.00 fee for each item covered if the transfer is system generated.

2)      Having funds automatically transferred from a pre-approved line of credit. This option will transfer amounts in increments of $100.00 to cover any overdraft. It is then repayable at $50 per month until the balance is paid in full.

 

 

 

 

Getting to your money is easy. You can make a cash withdrawal at our office. You can have a check mailed to your home address, or delivered to you via store mail. The easiest and most convenient way to access your money is to apply for a Visa Check Debit Card (VCDC) to withdraw cash at any Star or PLUS network machine throughout the world.  Your Visa Check Debit Card is welcome at thousands of merchants worldwide. It is accepted anywhere that you see the VISA logo and the purchase amount is deducted directly from your Share Draft (checking) account.

 

  

 

Payroll deduction is the easiest method to make deposits. We can split any amount you choose to send among savings, checking (share draft), or loan accounts. We can also receive automatic direct deposits of government benefit checks, payroll checks (from any company that offers direct deposit), or pension checks. Tax refund checks can also be deposited directly into your share draft account. You can also mail deposits, bring them by our office, or use any of our Credit Union Service Centers(CUSC) located nationwide. Locate the CUSC nearest to you.

 

 

 

 

Make bill paying easy by having the amount drafted automatically from your share draft account. This saves you the time of writing a check, as well as the ever increasing price of postage.

Lion’s Share Federal Credit Union also offers the ease of internet access. This allows you to view and retrieve archived statements immediately. You can balance your account everyday simply by looking at the items that have cleared online. If you need a copy of a check that has posted to your account, just click on the check number and you will see that check front and back. Print it and you have your copy, in hand, immediately. You can transfer funds and it is an immediate transaction. Our i-branch has never been better or easier for our members to use.

  

  

 

  

For those of you who only want a debit card with your checking account and find that you suddenly need to write a check, we offer free online bill pay. This allows you to send a check out when you need to without having to purchase a box of checks. Simply enter the information requested on the bill pay site and we will send the money out of your account electronically if the company receives it that way. If the company you are paying does not accept electronic transfers, we will physically print a check, put it in an envelope, put a stamp on it and send it out in the US Postal Service. All of this is FREE to you, our member.

 

 

  

 

The National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), a US Government agency, insures your account with Lion’s Share Federal Credit Union up to $250,000.00. The National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund is the strongest of the federal insurances.

 

  

 

Other than the fact that you will pay more for the same service at a bank, you won’t notice much difference between a bank checking account and a Credit Union Share Draft Account. If you still have your checking account with a bank, don’t stay there because you think it will be hard to change. We can help you make it easy, and you will be glad you did. Accounts can be opened individually or jointly.
